Karate Ways

In today’s world, having the awareness and ability to protect yourself is more vital than ever.  Men, women, teens, kids, and seniors will learn to do just that here at Howell’s Karate Ways.  Other benefits include self-discipline, better flexibility, balance & coordination, improved attention, physical conditioning, self-respect, confidence, and fun.

KIDS BENEFIT TOO!  Are you looking for improvements in your child’s focus, attention, respect, responsiveness, discipline, confidence, or do you just want to get them moving in a fun, positive way?  Besides having fun and learning karate, kids learn to listen, work collaboratively with others, control their bodies and behavior, build confidence, respond respectfully, build character and resilience, and learn to avoid conflict and bullying.  Parents, you will appreciate and enjoy the positive changes in your children.

American Kenpo, meaning “law of the fist” or “fist law,” was developed by Edmund Parker, a legend unto himself.  Kenpo is a fluid art, characterized by the use of close-range strikes delivered with power and precision.  It is usually an “empty hand” (weaponless) art, and uses a mix of well-placed, flowing hand strikes, kicks, throws and joint locks following scientific principles.  Techniques are learned to counter specific, real-life attacks, making it an excellent self-defense art.

Our instructors are highly experienced in Kenpo and enjoy teaching students of all ages.  We prioritize a safe, respectful, non-judgmental learning environment where students can push their boundaries and experience growth.  We are CPR and First-Aid certified, and we disinfect our mats daily.

We welcome students of all ages 4 years and older and have classes for Tiny Tigers (4-7), Juniors (8-13), and Adults (14+).  We also have special classes for seniors and women’s self-defense!  Click here for a free introductory lesson!
